Clint Shepherd Talks Bearcat Changes

The second verbal commitment for the Bearcats in the Class of 2010 was Clint Shepherd who gave his verbal pledge back in February. Where does Clint stand now Brian Kelly has official left the Bearcats? We checked in for the latest.

For Clint Shepherd (Eaton, Ohio) his choice of a college was easy to make. The University of Cincinnati had shown great success on the field and he knew about the program not far away from his home. Now that there has been a change in the coaching staff Shepherd knows he'll have some decisions to make.

"Right now I'm still a Bearcat," Shepherd said by phone on Saturday. "I'm disappointed that my official visit was cancelled for this weekend, but fully understand it's for the best."

While Clint wouldn't get into discussing other programs that may have now entered the picture, he was quick to give his support for Jeff Quinn as the Bearcats next head coach.

"I've known Coach Quinn since the start of this and would really like to see him be the head coach. But I also understand the university has to look to see if there is someone they feel should be the head coach. Right now I'll let the process work and give the next staff a chance before making any changes."

Other programs that had shown interest in the past include Purdue. But with a super senior season Clint is sure to have opened some eyes and would be a hot prospect on the board.
