Cuse Talent To Much For Bearcats

The Cincinnati Bearcats fell Sunday to the fourth ranked Syracuse Orange 71-54, as Syracuse ended the game on a 22-7 run to put Cincinnati away.

The loss moves Cincinnati to 5-6 in the Big East conference and will push the team to start putting pressure on themselves if they are to have any NCAA Tournament hopes.

The Bearcats were led by Ibrahima Thomas who scored 13 points on four of eight shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Thomas may have played his best game as a Bearcat as he scored six points in the first four minutes of action.

Sophomore Yancy Gates also had a nice game scoring eleven points while grabbing five rebounds in 28 minutes shooting five of five, Gates did struggle from the free throw line going one of five. Freshman Lance Stephenson showed signs of his explosion scoring ten points and grabbing eight rebounds in 34 minutes of action.

In more freshman updates, Jaquon Parker barely got a sniff of playing but redshirt freshman Cashmere Wright played 21 minutes. Wright scored seven points and added one assist on three of nine shooting from the field.

The loss moves Cincinnati to 14-9 and 5-6 in the Big East Conference with the Connecticut Huskies coming up on Saturday afternoon at 12 pm. Cincinnati defeated the Huskies at home earlier this season, but will head to Connecticut for another big time Big East test.
