Chisum Impressed With Bearcats

Georgia wide receiver talks about his recent visit to Cincinnati for the Bearcats Spring Game.

Despite the weather, Alex Chisum of Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek High School saw a lot to like on his visit to the University of Cincinnati.

How was his visit this past Saturday?

"I was great. I got a chance to see the team in action and meet some of the coaching staff and I really got a good look at the program."

While there Chisum saw some things that caught his eye and moved the Bearcats up on his list.

"It was really wonderful up there and I love the coaching staff and what they are telling me."

Did Alex see enough to end his recruiting?

"I plan on making my decision before my football season starts so I'll know where I'll be attending school at."

Looking back Alex got a good chance to see how he'd be used if he was a Bearcat.

"The offense they run, it's a great offense and with the wide receivers they'll have leaving means I'll have a good chance to play early. I could see myself out there."

One person who is working hard to get Alex on board is Class of 2011 quarterback pledge Patrick Coyne. Did Patrick twist his arm?

"Patrick was hoping I'd commit right there on the spot. He's a very good quarterback."

While Alex holds offers from Mississippi State, Louisville, Kentucky and the Bearcats, his visit to Cincinnati was the only spring game he attended.

When asked what he feels are his strengths as a player, Alex was quick and to the point.

"Going up and getting the ball, my catching ability and route running are my strengths."

Look for Alex to find a school where he feels he'll fit in and has a strong academic path in his chosen field.

"I plan on majoring in sports management. Cincinnati has a very good team and it's a great program on the climb."

While not ready to give Butch Jones his verbal pledge just yet, Alex knows the Bearcats have a lot to offer him.
