Bearcats Picked 2nd

The Cincinnati Bearcats have been picked to finish tied for second place by the Big East coaches at the conference media day in Newport, RI.

Pittsburgh was picked to win the league garnering 22 of 24 first place votes. Cincinnati did not receive a single first place vote despite being the back-to-back defending Big East Champions.

The other teams receiving first place votes were West Virginia, who is picked to finish in second place with the Bearcats, and UConn who is picked fourth.

Last season the Bearcats were picked to finish third and in 2008 were picked fifth. Obviously, UC wound up winning the league both of those seasons.

Cincinnati received 142 total points while Pittsburgh had 190.

The complete poll goes: Pittsburgh, 190 (22); West Virginia, 142 (1); Cincinnati, 142; Connecticut, 131 (1); Rutgers, 99; USF, 79; Syracuse 41; Louisville, 40.
