Bearcats Target Class of 2012

While Butch Jones has his quarterback for the Class of 2011, looking ahead this local product could find himself in the running for a scholarship offer.

There will be a lot of eyes watching the development of quarterback Michael Simpson this fall. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior quarterback has heard from several programs early, however, he knows this fall will be the one teams use to judge if they recruit him or not.

An overall good athlete, Michael Simpson has continued to grow and thicken over the course of the past two seasons. Last year, Simpson had a strong season passing for 1,588 yards and 14 touchdowns as Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne High School posted an 8-3 record.

While all the talk in the Dayton area has been centered on Braxton Miller, Simpson has gone about his business working to take his game to the next level. While Miller will again gather most of the spotlight, Simpson may hold the same position at this time next season.

On Saturday, BearcatInsider.com watched Simpson during an inter squad scrimmage as he showed his continued improvement on the field.
