As the son of a college coach and local high school coaching legend, Dylan Coombs knows his play on the field is watched by many to see if he deserves to be on the field. Saturday night, Coombs showed why he was in the Cardinals starting lineup.
will not excite you when you look at his physical size (5-foot-9), but what Coombs does is play within his abilities and helps his team take full advantage of the many skill players they have on defense.
Saturday night was a perfect example of why Dylan Coombs may soon be joining his father, University of Cincinnati defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs as a member of the Bearcats football program.
Coombs may be smaller than one would like, but you can see the wheels turning as he continues to take the lessons learned from his father and turn them into positives on the field.
Coombs is no stranger to Nippert Stadium and came up big with an interception in the Cardinals 35-6 victory over Northmont in the Crosstown Showdown.
Here are several photos from Saturday night's game.
