Beamon One To Watch In 2012 Class

One player that stood out during this weekend's opening season of high school games in Ohio is defensive end Karvon Beamon. With Beamon being from Cincinnati, look for the Bearcats to take a hard look at the defensive end. What makes Beamon one to watch? We break it down.

Long, lean and explosive are the words that best describe Cincinnati (Ohio) Oak Hills defensive end Karvon Beamon. At 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, Beamon shows the burst you want to see from future defensive linemen along with the ability to disrupt offensive game plans.

Beamon has great initial quickness and the ability to handle blockers one-on-one. In this game, he fought off double teams and showed great ability to get off blocks with both quickness and strength.

While Beamon is still a ways from being a finished product, he shows great lateral speed to go with balance and body control.

While Beamon will make a name for himself over the next couple of months, his continued work in the weight room will make him an even bigger prospect by the time spring evaluations start and the combine and camp circuit get under way. Do not be surprised if the Bearcats take a hard look at Beamon.
