Hoops Update Jeremiah Davis

Are the Bearcats on the list of Jeremiah Davis? Bearcat Insider gets the latest on the Huntington (WVa) Prep's point guard.

The recruiting process as it comes to Huntington (WVa) Prep's Jeremiah Davis is still plodding along, and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats are still in the running for his services.

"Cincinnati is definitely one of my top schools," said the 6-2 shooting guard. "I am going to start taking my official (visits) soon. The recruiting is starting to get to the point where I want to make a decision."

Davis hasn't actually played at the prep academy, transferring from Muncie (Ind.) Central recently. He averaged 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals in leading the Bearcats to a Class 4A sectional title last season.

However, he added that no decision was forthcoming until he made a couple of his visits. Davis wants to get on a couple of campus' before his season starts, and still doesn't want to put a time frame on when he will make a final decision.

Davis has plenty of options to choose his five officials from, although he isn't sure whether all five campus visits are needed. Cincinnati is joined by Indiana, Ball State, Dayton, Michigan State, Ohio State, Xavier, Miami (Fl.), UNLV and Purdue on his list of schools.

The Bearcats recently received its third commitment for the Class of 2011 when Memphis (TN) Whitehaven power forward Octavious Ellis gave his verbal commitment over the weekend. He joined Ge-Lawn Guyn and Kristian Smith as Cincinnati verbals.
