Lambert is One of the Best in 2004

The state of South Carolina will be loaded once again with incredible talent on the gridiron next season, and Greenville offensive lineman Corey Lambert certainly fits the bill as one of the prospects around. Who does he like in the early stages of recruiting?

Corey Lambert is already hearing from schools all across the country, and his senior season is still officially 4 months away.

"Right now, I'm hearing from South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee and Clemson, but I'm still a long ways off from making a decision," said Lambert in a recent interview.

To say that Corey Lambert is an incredible physical specimen would be an understatement. As a junior, he weighed in at a mind-boggling 6-7, 306 pounds. In addition, he can already bench 365, squat 405 and he runs the 40-yard dash in just over 5.0 seconds flat.

Lambert is projected as an offensive tackle at the next level, and after only giving up one sack during his senior season; it's no wonder why most schools in the southeast have been sending steady mail his way.
"I'm still keeping things open, but I'm going to look at the instate schools first and also Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland. I just want to learn as much about everybody as possible right now," said Lambert.

Lambert is just one of several top-ranked prospects that should emerge from South Carolina next year. The staffs at Clemson and USC seem to agree that next year will see the Palmetto state boast some of the top talent in the country- especially on the offensive line.

And of course, Lambert automatically becomes a priority here simply because he's so big, and also so agile. While all of the official offers haven't quite poured in yet, you can bet that after the May Evaluation Period, Lambert will be able to name the school of his choice.
