Napier sees in-state QB

Clemson offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Billy Napier was in the lower part of the state earlier this month to watch 2011 quarterback Gator Garrick.

QB Tamyn Garrick Profile

Williston-Elko High School senior Tamyn ‘Gator' Garrick thought he put on a nice performance against rival Blackville-Hilda. He went 8 for 12 for 227 yards—a career-best.

"We only threw the ball 12 times. I felt like, with the amount of throws I was given, I did was I supposed to do to help my team win," Garrick recently told CUTigers. "I felt like I did pretty well."

He wasn't able to speak with Napier, but did notice him on the sidelines.

"I was glad to see him there and I really appreciated him coming. That meant a lot to me," Garrick said.

Napier and Garrick have not spoken since the game. He's yet to get word on whether Clemson will send an offer his way.

"I feel like only time could tell. I believe they've narrowed it down to a few guys. They're still trying to make their decision," Garrick said.

He plans to visit Clemson for the Miami game next week.
