Swinney: He was in green today. Still limited. Would still say he's questionable. It might be a situation where he's game ready but he hadn't practiced all week. This isn't a week to not practice. It's not a normal deal.
What about DeAndre Hopkins?
Swinney: Nuke practiced all day and looked good. I was encouraged with that. Good tempo all day. It's good to see guys out there coaching each other. They understand the plan on both sides.
Their passing game can be especially sneaky, can't it?
Swinney: That's what they do. They lull to sleep. They run it 20 times in a row and just when you think it's safe out there on an island- there it goes. They hurt us. They've hit one gigantic play (passing) every time we've played them. You have to be disciplined play after play after player. Every down. Don't try to do too much.
DeAndre Hopkins was full speed at Wednesday's practice. (Roy Philpott)
Swinney: He's done great. I can't imagine there are many teams out there that a guy like that can simulate Nesbitt. He really did a good job. But that's his element. He can run and he can plant and change direction and he's a physical guy. He's handled it pretty good so far.
Who are your WILL linebackers right now with Maye out?
Swinney: Tig [Willard] in for Brandon. That's the major change there.
Could Tig play 70 snaps Saturday?
Swinney: Yes. Daniel Andrews is the swing guy this week. I'm hoping Brandon will be game ready but when you get limited practice you don't have much of a comfort zone without the reps.
Could DeAndre Hopkins also do returns?
Swinney: Oh yeah. If he plays he'll be available wherever. Today was a critical day for him. Yesterday he practiced all day in green but today was full speed. He fell on the ground a couple of times hard and he did fine.
