With excellent speed and attitude, Loris (SC) offensive lineman Jeremy Burgess is making impact.

"The coaches seem think think I have a great size, good speed and agility, a knowledge of the game, and a great work ethic," says the 6-foot-5, 260 pounder, who tends to agree.

"I bench 260 pounds, squat 400 pounds, and I am still growing." Not turning 17 until later this summer, Burgess really is growing leaps and bounds. "I grew two inches since last summer, and I am just hitting my growth spurt. One coach told me that he likes me at my weight. He said that sixteen year-olds that are 300 pounds are just too big for their age. My brother is 6-7, 305 pounds, runs a 4.89 40, and is probably going to be drafted from Liberty, but he was not 300 pounds until recently."

Burgess is already starting to make his rounds for unofficial visits, including three schools. "I went to the North Carolina Junior day, and I really liked it. The coaches are really great guys and down to earth. "Wake Forest is really nice and have excellent coaches."

"South Carolina also have excellent coaches and amazing facilities. "Clemson is probably fourth and North Carolina State probably fifth." Burgess plans on making one-day camps at North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, and NC State.
