Four-star QB back in town

Clemson received a return trip from one of the top 2012 quarterbacks in the Southeast last weekend. He's one of four junior quarterbacks to receive an offer from the Tigers.

QB Greyson Lambert Profile

Wayne County High School (Jesup, Ga.) junior quarterback Greyson Lambert visited Clemson earlier this season for the season opener against North Texas. He was back in town for the 14-13 win over N.C. State.

"It was great," Lambert told CUTigers. "They were able to pull it out there at the end. They fought hard the whole game. I wasn't able to see the coaches before the game, because I got there right before the game, so I just went straight to my seat."

Recruiting coordinator/wide receivers coach Jeff Scott made the rounds with Lambert following the Tigers' win.

"He talked to me and I kind of pulled me back aside from all the recruits," Lambert said. "We were talking about the great receiving class that they have coming in with the 2011 class. We talked about one of the running backs. I think his name is [Mike] Bellamy. Basically, it's a great 2011 class they've got coming in."

Lambert spoke with Charone Peake, who was in one of several 2011 commits in for the game.

"I just kind of got to know him," Lambert said.

After meeting with Peake, Lambert was then ushered to a head coach Dabo Swinney.

"We just talked about how my season was going, just getting to know each other a little bit more, since I wasn't able to talk to him at camp a whole lot," Lambert said.

Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Billy Napier was up next.

"He told me that he wanted to come down to my school and talk to my coaches. He just wanted to build a strong bond with me," Lambert said.

The trip to Tigertown received high praise.

"Overall, it was a great trip," Lambert said. "The fans and everybody were jumping up and down and going crazy. It was a great atmosphere."

Along with the two trips to Clemson this season, he's visited Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Wayne County finished 5-5 this season. Lambert threw for 1,991 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also rushed for two scores.

Clemson and Alabama are currently the only to offers to his name.

"I don't have any favorites. It's too early for me," Lambert said. Top Stories
