Tuesday bowl practice observations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Clemson used the Carolina Panthers' practice facility Tuesday for the second bowl practice in the Queen City.

In the shadows of Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte, Tuesday's practice conditions were considerably better than they were a day earlier at Charlotte Country Day School.

According to a representative from CCDS, conditions at their facility are improved. Sounds like everything should be up to par for Wednesday's workout.

Warmer weather and no wintry mix on the field made for what appeared to be a sharper start to the practice.

Rashard Hall was "dinged up" on Monday and in a yellow jersey on Tuesday. Jonathan Meeks worked with the first-team defense beside fellow safety DeAndre McDaniel.

• During punt return work, there was extensive preparation for a fake punt throw. Martin Jenkins is lined up at gunner position on the side where the pass is thrown.

Several coaches from area schools were in attendance, including Jimmy Wallace from Northwestern (Rock Hill) and Bobby Carroll from South Pointe (Rock Hill). Coaches from Indian Land were also in to watch.

Former Clemson Tiger and NFL star Brenston Bucker was also in attendance.
