CUTigers first reported shortly before 10 AM Tuesday morning and SEC school had offered a Clemson defensive coach a job.
Turns out that coach was Clemson defensive ends coach Chris Rumph.
Rumph accepted the position and said his good-byes to the Clemson staff shortly after 12 o'clock Tuesday.
He is expected to be named Alabama's new defensive line coach within the week.
Rumph is the second Clemson coach to leave for Tuscaloosa in the last three years. Alabama running backs coach Burton Burns left Clemson before the 2008 season for the Crimson Tide and remains in that position today.
