Peake, Watkins bonding in Texas

SAN ANTONIO - Scout.com catches up with Clemson commitment Charone Peake.

Two of those talented pass catchers, Charone Peake and Sammy Watkins, are committed to Clemson and Coach Dabo Swinney.

The talented duo has certainly passed the test this week in San Antonio. The time has also allowed the two to get to know each other better.

"It's been great coming out here competing with the nation's best," said Charone. "It's been working out pretty good for me."

Peake and Watkins are both expected to figure prominently in the East squad's rotation on Saturday.

Charone reports that he has enjoyed getting to spend some time between the lines with his future teammate.

"We feel like things are going to work out good when we get to Clemson," said Peake. "We worked out together at camp, so this is really our first time to work out since then.

"He's a good receiver and I feel like we can make a difference together."

The Tigers' tandem is also doing their part to represent the Clemson cause this week. Charone reports that he is trying to convince his roomate to follow him to college.

"Lateek Townsend is my roommate," said Peake. "I am trying to get him. He's a great kid."

"There is a lot of talent here. We have a variety of receivers, so we can do everything we want to do on the field. "I am taking my visit to Clemson in January, but I am not sure of the date," said Peake. "I am not planning on taking any other visits.

"I feel like I made the right decision when I picked Clemson. I like all of the coaches over there and I feel like that's the best place for me."
