Davis firming things up?

Cortez Davis visited Clemson this weekend and quite possibly could now be done with recruiting.

Cortez Davis took his third and final official visit this weekend, and it was to Clemson, the school he'll sign with on Feb. 2.

"I had a great time with all the players. I was hosted by Xavier [Brewer]," he told CUTigers after returning home from his visit. "I hadn't really talked to him [before the weekend]. I got to know him. He's a real cool guy."

The Scout.com three-star safety was impressed with Saturday's team banquet.

"It was a great ceremony," Davis said. "They had all the players up there and C.J. [Spiller] come up there to talk to all of the players. It was great."

And before he left on Sunday, Davis and head coach Dabo Swinney sat down for an exit interview.

"We talked about my grades and staying focused," Davis said.

"I talked to all of the coaches, I like them, they seemed like they were cool guys," Davis said.

Davis elected not to offer a comment about what happened with former Clemson commit Marlin Lane, Davis' teammate at Mainland High School (Daytona Beach, Fla.).

He finished his senior year with 43 receptions for over 700 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 40 tackles and an interception.

Davis is rated three stars by Scout.com and the ranked as the No. 49 safety in the nation.
