One of Clemson's strongest verbal commitments discusses his big weekend in Tigertown.

Because of a few things he learned at Vickery Hall, Jerome Maybank walked away pleased with his official visit weekend in Clemson.

CUTigers caught up with the three-star from Waccamaw High School (Pawley's Island) after his trip to Tigertown.

"Being able to sit down in Vickery Hall, we all got split up into groups, based on our major. I went with the criminal justice group," Maybank said. "I sat down with a lady who's going to be teaching a course. She gave me a better idea of all the jobs I can do with that major.

"It's one of the main courses that players take. That made me feel comfortable, because that's something that I want to major in. That was pretty much the highlight for me."

His meeting with head coach Dabo Swinney was on Friday, shortly after he arrived that morning.

"He was just explaining things to my parents, who had some questions. He talked about what they're expecting out of this class," Maybank said. "Mostly, it was a welcoming meeting."

Kourtnei Brown hosted him this weekend.

"It was real nice getting to have some questions answered from a player's point of view," Maybank said. "I asked him how the practices go, how the coaches act. That was nice to get a player's point of view on how things go at Clemson." Top Stories
