Switching things up

Ammon Lakip, a kicker/punter that Clemson offered earlier this month, has changed the date of his official visit to Tigertown.

The Chattahoochie High School (John's Creek, Ga.) specialist was scheduled to visit Auburn last weekend, but didn't go.

His Georgia Tech visit for this weekend was cancelled. Instead, he'll visit Clemson and make the short ride to Georgia Tech's campus for a visit on Tuesday.

"I just wanted to get my decision decided earlier," Lakip told CUTigers. "I don't want to until the last weekend."

He visited Clemson last spring, but that was to see the Tigers' soccer team.

When asked what he hopes to see this weekend, Lakip said, "I just really would like to see the facilities and meet the kids. I want to see the football facilities. I've already seen the campus. I just want to meet the players."

Clemson and Georgia Tech have extended full offers. Auburn's was a greyshirt tender.

His decision will come down to the ACC rivals.

"It will probably be next week, after the visit," Lakip said.

During his senior season, he made 14 of 20 field goals, was 2 of 3 from 50 yards or more, including a long of 51 and 63 of 64 extra-point attempts. On kickoffs, 80 percent of his kickoffs were touchbacks.

Lakip kicked off the ground during the regular season, but switched to a block during the state playoffs.
