5 star RB talks with CUTigers

Shortly after next month's signing day, the only 2012 running back that holds a Clemson offer will cut his list down to 10.

CUTigers caught up with Millbrook High School junior Keith Marshall, who's been offered by just about everyone in the country.

The Scout.com five-star from Raleigh, N.C. visited Clemson last October for the Georgia Tech game.

"I'm starting to filter out some schools but for the most part I'm still wide open," he said.

Along with his trip to Clemson, Marshall also saw games at Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina Duke and NC State. He visited Florida State in December. Nothing has been scheduled for the spring.

When he was still on staff at Clemson, former running backs coach Andre Powell was Marshall's main recruiter.

"I used to talk to coach Powell just about every week, but I haven't had any contact with Clemson since he got let go," Marshall said.

How does Powell's departure affect how you feel about Clemson?

"I don't really know. I don't really have a relationship with anyone else at Clemson," he said.

There are three areas that Marshall plans to focus on during the rest of his recruiting process.

"Academics, football program and the relationship the coaches have with their players," he said.

In 10 games as a junior, Marshall rushed for 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns.

He has no timetable for a commitment.
