Clemson after another N.C. OLB

It's on to the class of 2012 and Clemson is already in pursuit of another outside linebacker from North Carolina.

OLB Nick Dawson Profile

CUTigers caught up with Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology (Charlotte) junior outside linebacker Nick Dawson.

Clemson offered Dawson in the spring of his sophomore year. Dawson's recruiter of record from Clemson is special teams/tight ends coach Danny Pearman.

"I talked to him the other day," Dawson said. "We were just talking about the recruiting process, basically—nothing really serious."

He visited Clemson for the Miami game last season and was in town for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp earlier that summer.

What'd you think of the game day experience at Clemson?

"I loved it. The atmosphere was real. I love Clemson."

Dawson hasn't seen much of Clemson, outside of what's going on over at Memorial Stadium.

"I'm planning on going to junior day," he said.

Along with that trip, he's planned a visit to Tennessee. He visited North Carolina last weekend.

Do you have any leaders?

"Right now, I'm all even," Dawson said.

Along with Clemson, Kentucky, Maryland, Louisville, North Carolina, N.C. State and Tennessee have offered.
