DE visiting Clemson this weekend

Signing day wasn't all about counting faxes. Like coaches all across the country, Clemson's staff was in touch with several 2012 prospects.

DE Jonathan Bullard Profile

It was about this time last year when Jeoffrey Pagan started popping up on various offer boards. Now, it's Crest High School (Shelby, N.C.) junior defensive end Jonathan Bullard.

He was one of the Tigers' targets to speak with head coach Dabo Swinney last Wednesday. A good message came from that conversation.

"I'm going down Saturday. They're going to offer me Saturday. I know I've got an offer. He just wanted to do it in person," Bullard said.

Swinney told Bullard that he would have been offered while in for last month's junior day.

"That's one of the teams that looked at me first, so I was kind of expecting it sometime soon. It was pretty exciting," Bullard said.

Because he'd already committed to making a visit to South Carolina that weekend, Bullard was unable see Clemson. He made those plans not long after the Gamecocks offered.

N.C. State, North Carolina and Florida will also offer.

Bullard said his teammate, Rhaheim Ledbetter, is scheduled to make a visit to Clemson this weekend.

"He was supposed to, but he's sick right now, so I don't know if he's going to end up getting well by Saturday," Bullard said. "But he's supposed to go."

As a junior, he had 107 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. Bullard was named the Big South Conference's Defensive Player of Year. He won the award ahead of Zeek Bigger (East Carolina signee), Norkeithus Otis (North Carolina signee) and Ledbetter. Top Stories
