BOX SCORE: Clemson 63 Miami 59
The win keeps Clemson's NCAA Tournament chances alive as the Tigers play two of their final three regular season games at home before heading to Greensboro, N.C. for the ACC Tournament.
Three Tigers scored in double-digits as the team improved to 18-9 (7-6 ACC) while the loss dropped the Hurricanes to 16-11 (4-8 ACC).
Andre Young scored a game-high 18 on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the 3-point line. He also grabbed four rebounds.
Demontez Stitt had 17 on an 11-of-13 performance from the free-throw line. Jerai Grant added 12.
Tanner Smith handed out a game-high eight assists.
Miami shot 49 percent from the field, but committed 16 turnovers. Durand Scott scored a team-high 16 while Reggie Johnson scored just seven.
Clemson shot 43 percent from the field and 86 percent at the charity stripe (18-of-21). The Tigers also hit 46 percent from long-range.
After Miami took the lead 54-50 courtesy of a four-point play from Malcolm Grant with under four minutes to play, the Tigers' defense buckled down, holding the 'Canes scoreless for the next 3:05.
After Young made a pair of free throws to put Clemson back up by one 34 seconds to play, Miami had two chances to tie or retake the lead but couldn't.
Durand Scott was fouled driving to the basket with 12.5 seconds left but only made one of two before the Tigers hit their free throws down the stretch to ice the win.
The win was just Clemson's second on the road in conference play this year.
The Tigers led 28-27 at halftime as the teams went back and forth until the final minute of the game.
Clemson is back in action Saturday when Wake Forest visits Littlejohn Coliseum at 4 p.m.
