Apopka OL interested in Clemson

One of Florida's top programs, Apopka, has an offensive lineman that holds over 20 offers, including one from Clemson.

OG Ty Darlington Profile

The son of Apopka (Fla.) head coach Rick Darlington, Ty Darlington, is one of the most sought after interior lineman in the Sunshine State.

Back in 2010, Clemson said there would be an offer.

"They came in and told my dad, our head coach, they told him they were going to offer me, I think during the season sometime," Darlington told CUTigers.

And there's some interest in the Tigers, from father and son.

"My dad's always liked Clemson. I've always liked Clemson growing up. It's not like my favorite team or anything, but I have sort of followed them a little bit," Darlington said. "I do have interest. I just haven't really talked to anybody."

Former defensive ends coach Chris Rumph recruited that area prior to leaving for Alabama.

Darlington hasn't visited Clemson, but would like to make a visit.

"It is really hard to visit anywhere out of state…if we were going up that way, I'd love to [visit Clemson]," he said.

With close to 30 offers now to his name, including several from the ACC and elsewhere around the country, Darlington currently has no list of favorites.

"Pretty soon I'm going to have to do that, just to narrow it down a little bit," he said. "But, as of right now, I'm not naming any top whatever."
