The Dudley High School (Greensboro) junior spoke with CUTigers shortly after Clemson's 69-60 win over Virginia Tech.

"I love the way they play defense," Dillard said. "Their offensive play, the guards come loose—a lot of picks, inside out. That really stood out, especially their defense."

After the game, Dillard spoke one-on-one with associate head coach Rick Ray and head coach Brad Brownell "Coach Ray asked how I liked the game. He asked about my season this year. That was pretty much it," Dillard said.

With Brownell, "he asked a couple of questions about how the end of my season went. He said that he was going to come see me this spring and summer."

Dillard, who visited in the fall for season opening football game against North Texas, hadn't visited Clemson for a basketball game until last weekend.

The experience in Littlejohn Coliseum exceeded the expectations he had before the weekend.

"It was real live in there. It's a great atmosphere, that's for sure," Dillard said. "I really didn't think it was going to be that big. Looking at it on TV and being there live, it's a lot more exciting than what you think."

He currently holds offers from Tulane, VCU, Appalachian State and UNC-Greensboro. Along with those schools and Clemson, Wake Forest and Miami are also expressing interest. Top Stories
