Noticed on a national scale

One of the first 2012 wide receivers that Clemson offered is up to nearly 10 offers, and his list includes some of the nation's premier programs.

WR Jaquay Williams Profile three-star wide receiver Jaquay Williams had just one offer for almost a full year. In December of 2010, others began to roll in.

Auburn, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan have since sent offers his way.

Recently, he's visited Auburn, Georgia and Alabama. He'll be in Florida this weekend and has planned a trip to Ohio State for later on this spring.

Williams hasn't visited Clemson since last year's spring game.

"They haven't told me a date to come up there," he told "They haven't gotten in touch with me on that yet."

"I've called coach Jeff Scott a couple of times, but I didn't get an answer."

As a junior, Williams had 36 catches for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he had 700 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

He doesn't claim any favorites, but noted all schools are even.

Williams has two main criteria in mind as he continues to evaluate schools.

"I'm trying to major in criminology, so I'm trying to where that's the best, the best wide receiver coach that's going to get me better," he said.

As for a timeline for a decision, does Williams have a plan in mind?

"We don't know yet. Me and my mom are shortening the list right now," he said. Top Stories
