ATH Marqui Hawkins Profile
Marqui Hawkins is listed as a quarterback by Scout.com, but started at wide receiver during his sophomore season.
Last season, he had 21 catches for 386 yards and five touchdowns. He'll play both wide receiver and safety this year.
Most schools are recruiting him as a wide receiver, though Clemson and Purdue are recruiting Hawkins as a safety.
"It really doesn't matter. I prefer receiver, but I'd play anything," he recently told CUTigers.com.
Right now, Hawkins claims offers from Georgia, Alabama and Purdue. He also hears from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Vanderbilt and LSU.
"I've been to Auburn, Georgia, Alabama and of course [Clemson]," Hawkins said. "The last time I've been to Clemson was for the last camp they had. I think that was last year--I forget what game I went to, but I went to a game. That was the last time I've been up there."
Might another trip to Tigertown be in the works?
"I'm supposed to be coming up there for the spring game in a couple of weeks," he said. "I might be going to the Bama spring game, and Georgia. But I'm supposed to go to Clemson first, though."
Right now, two schools are sticking out.
"I've got two favorites schools, and that's Clemson and Georgia," Hawkins said. "Really, I like the way the schools are built and the way they treat you, how the coaches act."
