Hobby sees 2013 WR

Marion Hobby stopped through the low country last Tuesday to check in on one of the state's top 2013 wide receivers.

WR Mike Williams Profile

Lake Marion High School (Holly Hill) sophomore Mike Williams has garnered interest from USC, Clemson, Tennessee, UCLA, N.C. State, North Carolina, Duke and East Carolina.

North Carolina, Duke and East Carolina also stopped by Lake Marion last week.

The rising junior talked with CUTigers.com about the visit by Hobby, Clemson's first-year defensive ends coach.

"He left a camp brochure, he wants us to come up there," Williams said.

In March, Williams said he planned to attend camp at Clemson after wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator Jeff Scott asked if he was interested in making a camp stop in Tigertown.

Williams currently holds offers from Clemson and South Carolina. Are there any favorites?

"It's up to USC and Clemson right now," Williams said. "They're about the same right now."

There's one matter that's very important to Williams as he looks for a school that's the right fit.

"A school that gives me a good education and helps me graduate," he said.

As a sophomore, Williams had 42 catches for over 700 yards and five touchdowns, and passed for 450 yards and three scores.

Williams visited Clemson for the first time two months ago during spring practice.
