"I have a lot of interest in Clemson," Thomas told CUTigers.com on Tuesday night. "They have room for d-ends. They're losing a lot of d-ends."
The rising senior is listed Scout.com as a three-star prospect and ranks him as the nation's No. 53 defensive end in the class of 2012.
Thomas has only taken one visit, and that was to Auburn. This summer, he plans on visiting Clemson, Alabama, Florida and South Carolina.
When he visits Clemson, Thomas said, "I want to see if it feels like home, how they work."
Along with Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Auburn, South Florida, Mississippi, and Kentucky have also offered.
What schools are standing out the most?
"I like Florida, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia," he said. "No order."
The 6-foot-6, 233-pound rising senior plans to make a decision after takes official visits to the schools he's currently considering.
"I just want to find a place that's like home," Thomas said.
As a junior, he registered 13 sacks.
