RB Mike Bellamy Profile
Sources confirmed to CUTigers.com shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday night that Bellamy had received the necessary test scores and grades to make him a full qualifier this fall.
However, Bellamy actually learned of the qualifying test score on Monday, according to Charlotte High School (Punta Gorda, Fla.) head coach Binky Waldrop.
"He's had a great semester in school. Through a lot of hard work, he got his test score up where it needed to be," Waldrop said. "He should be good to go."
The Scout.com No. 7 ranked running back in the class of 2011 enjoyed the news.
"He's been bouncing off the walls ever since," Waldrop said.
Bellamy's last day of school is Friday. His graduation is scheduled for next Thursday.
During his prep career, Bellamy rushed for over 7,000 yards. He was signed by former Clemson offensive line coach and now administrator Brad Scott.
Bellamy, who played in the Under Armour All-American Game, was the game's leading rusher with 56 yards on 13 carries.
He is expected to contribute right away in Chad Morris' new offense later this fall, joining junior running back Andre Ellington in Clemson's backfield.
All systems go for Mike Bellamy
