Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott received a phone call from the nation's No. 27-ranked cornerback Sunday night.

"I just got off the phone with him 15 minutes ago," T.J. Davis told CUTigers.com. "I got off work at 8 and called him around 8:15."

"We just talked about early playing time. Since Dre [DeAndre McDaniel] just graduated from Clemson, we talked about players from here going there, keeping it going."

The Scout.com No. 27 ranked cornerback in the 2012 class saw Scott earlier this week when the Tigers' third-year assistanta watched Davis practice on Tuesday. He's one of several coaches that have already ventured to Godby High School (Tallahassee, Fla.) during this spring's evaluation period.

Along with Clemson, TCU, Alabama, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Auburn and LSU have been by the school during the current evaluation period.

Davis has yet to visit Clemson, but he plans to change that within the next couple of months.

"During the summer," he said. "And definitely an official."

Specific plans for the summer visit have not been nailed down. Davis is scheduled to visit LSU later this month.

He claims no favorites and has no timeline for a decision.

Davis said Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Nebraska and Texas Tech are currently recruiting him the hardest.
