Morris, Pearman see Charlotte OT

Chad Morris and Danny Pearman stopped through Charlotte, N.C. on Monday to check in on one of the most highly sought after offensive tackles in the Carolinas.

The Clemson coaches visited Charlotte Catholic for a morning evaluation of junior offensive tackle Mark Harrell.

"They were only allowed to talk to me for a little bit, I guess because the NCAA restricts their time, all that kind of stuff," Harrell told "I don't know exactly how long they were there before I was able to talk to them. I don't know how long they stayed after but they were only allowed to talk to me briefly."

He said Morris and Pearman spent time speaking with his coach and athletic director.

"They relayed the message that they want me to go there," Harrell said. "They're excited about their new offense with coach Morris. They'd like to see me back down on the campus during the summer."

"They were talking about how I would fit into the offense and how well I would fit into the school in general. The message was very positive, according to my coach. I was excited about it."

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound rising senior keeps in frequent contact with Pearman, who is recruiting the Charlotte area.

"I touch base with him probably once a week, or once every two weeks," Harrell said. "I do a pretty good job of keeping in touch with him and he does a good job of keeping in touch with me. He'll send me some e-mails and I'll give him a call. We're building a pretty good relationship."

Florida, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Auburn, Virginia, South Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee and Georgia Tech have all stopped by the school.

"More have [visited]. I just can't name them all off the top of my head," Harrell said.

Currently, six schools are standing out. It's not an official short list. Schools are subjection to addition and removal.

"It's kind of the schools that I'm highly interested in…I like Notre Dame, I like Auburn, [UNC] Chapel Hill, Clemson, South Carolina and Virginia," Harrell said.

The plan is to have a decision made before the start of his senior season. Summer visits are tentative, but none are definite.

"I'm definitely going to go out and visit some schools this summer, for sure," Harrell said. Top Stories
