Clemson offers another in-state WR

Wide receivers coach Jeff Scott extended an offer to one of the state's top 2013 wide receivers on Wednesday evening. What other school was the rising junior's school that day? Where does Clemson stand after the offer?

Scott was in Holly Hill on Wednesday night for the Lake Marion High School spring game. Before he left, an offer was extended to Mike Williams, a rising junior wide receiver.

"He told my coach and my coach told me," Williams told on Thursday.

Scott was the second Clemson coach to stop by Lake Marion this spring. Defensive ends coach Marion Hobby visited in early May.

"It means a lot, because I‘m in the tenth grade," he said of the Clemson offer. "It's my first offer. It means a lot to me."

The Tigers have now jumped out ahead of the pack.

"They're first now since they were the first school to offer me," Williams said.

The rest of the pack includes South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Williams plans to camp at Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia this summer.

As a sophomore, he hauled in 42 catches for over 700 yards and five touchdowns, and passed for 450 yards and three scores.
Williams said an assistant coach from Florida was also in town for the spring game. Top Stories
