Big man has big interest in Clemson

A former commitment to Jeff Capel and Oklahoma, this 6-foot-10, 250-pound center from Canada makes no bones about his favorite.

C Richard Peters Profile

Richard Peters, a rising senior at Westwind Academy Charter School, is rated as a three-star prospect by for the 2011 class. He's recently re-classified and will sign in 2012.

Richard Peters has no plans to visit Clemson but hopes to make one in the near future.
And, for now, his front-runner is Washington.

"I like all the schools that have offered me," Peters recently told "I really like Washington. That's my leader right now. There's no school that I'm not showing interest in. I'm grateful for the opportunity from all these schools."

He's spent time at three different schools during his prep career. As a freshman, Peters attended The Sagemont School in Westin, Fla. A year later, he was at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.

Now, as Peters prepares for his senior season at Westwind Academy, offers from Alabama, Auburn, Indiana, Marquette, Missouri and Washington.

Clemson is firmly in the mix, too.

"I was just talking on Facebook with coach Rick Ray, plus the head coach not too long ago. I really like those two," Peters said. "I'm just weighing my options. Clemson is a school I really have some interest in, too."

What stands out about Clemson?

"I really like what they have going on over there. For me, one of the big things for me, it being in South Carolina, the weather's going to be great," Peters said. "It's nice weather, so that's a plus."

"There are a lot of factors that play into Clemson. It's a basketball program that I really like. Coach Rick Ray is a great recruiter. I talk to him a lot." Top Stories
