Keeping tabs on the Tigers

Though Clemson has not offered, the Tigers remain in firm consideration for this three-star running back from Florida.

Venice High School rising senior Danny Dillard holds offers, including Boston College, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Purdue and USF.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound running back has only visited the campuses of Florida and USF. And he's yet to nail down any summer visit plans.

"I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet," Dillard recently told "I haven't done anything yet."

The No. 61 running back in the class of 2012 receives "lots of mail" from Clemson.

"I like Clemson. I think it's a good school," he said.

Clemson running backs coach Tony Elliott recently took control of the portion of Florida, which used to belong to former offensive line coach Brad Scott.

"[Elliott] came right before the end of May. I saw him after class. That's all that it was with him," Dillard said.

He added, "I haven't talked to [Elliott] in a while. I'm going to call him [last Sunday]. But I haven't talked to him in a while."

Along with Clemson, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Ohio State are also expressing interest, but have not offered.

Are there any favorites?

"I like Western Kentucky, I like Miami, Clemson, Georgia Tech—not many. There is a couple. It's changing about every week," Dillard said.

As a junior, he rushed for 1,300 yards and 25 touchdowns. Top Stories
