Tigers offer 2013 running back

Clemson offered this 2013 running back from Georgia after a one-day appearance during the first session of the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

Clemson's offer went out to Milton High School [Alpharetta, Ga.] rising junior Peyton Barber last Monday, the same day that his teammate, wide receiver Ryan Jenkins, netted an offer from the Tigers.

"I think it went very well," Barber told CUTigers.com of his stop in Clemson. "I had talked to [running backs coach Tony Elliott] before and he told me to come up there to camp. I thought I performed very well. My coach told me to call him and he told me I did very well."

That's when Elliott gave him the good news, just days after the visit to Clemson.

"He told me that I have really good film, but it wasn't quite good enough yet to have a Clemson offer," Barber said. "He said when I come up to the Clemson camp, if I perform really well he said that's when he could offer me a scholarship."

The offer was his first.

"It means a lot. I really can explain to you how it felt. It felt good," Barber said.

With UCF camp on deck for later this week, he believes the Knights could be next.

Barber has only taken visits to Clemson and Georgia Tech. He also hopes to also see Florida, Auburn, Oregon and Nebraska.
