QB Cord Sandberg Profile
Morris watched Cord Sandberg play in a baseball game for Manatee High School [Bradenton, Fla.] earlier this spring. That's when the message of Clemson's offer was relayed.
"I visited Clemson last year. The town is a simple, quiet town," Sandberg recently told CUTigers.com. "The coaching staff seems like a family. The facilities were as good as anywhere in the country. I could picture myself playing there."
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound quarterback made the journey to Clemson last summer while the Dabo Swinney Football Camp was in session.
This summer, Sandberg has attended a one-day camp at Florida.
His offer sheet of Auburn, Iowa State, Cincinnati and Western Kentucky have could increase before the end of the month. Sandberg and several teammates will hit the road to see Florida State, Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee before the end of the month.
"It's just kind of some one-day camps and to see the facilities and coaches," he said.
There are no favorites at the moment.
"College football is always changing with coaches. Senior year, wherever feels good, as far as atmosphere and coaching staff," Sandberg said. "I'll have to make the decision [to] wherever feels good…I think the coaching staff and the relationship I have with them will be a pretty big factor in my decision."
As a sophomore, he passed for 2,855 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushed for 600 yards.
