Tigers in touch with Wisconsin forward

Dating back to his days as an assistant to Purdue, Rick Ray has served as the primary recruiter for this three-star power forward, who was recently offered by Clemson.

Now, as the associate head coach at Clemson, Ray remains in regular contact with Phillip Nolan.

The 6-foot-10, 200-pound senior from Milwaukee, WI. talks to Ray "pretty much about every week."

"We talk about everything. We've got a nice relationship," Nolan recently told CUTigers.com. "Basically, I call him, he calls. We just talk about little things -- not about basketball every time -- just catching up on. We've talked about different kinds of food I should eat, the best way to prepare it and cook. We just talk about all types of stuff."

Though he has yet to visit Clemson, Nolan is "pretty sure" that he will take a visit to see the campus.

Along with Clemson, he holds offers from Texas, Baylor, Marquette, Oklahoma, Arizona, Memphis, Miami, Iowa State and Seton Hall.

"I don't have any favorites. I haven't narrowed it down yet," Nolan said.

Once his AAU season comes to a close later this summer, Nolan will begin to look at potential destinations for visits.

There is one main factor that will work into his consideration.

"I just need to be real comfortable, not just with the assistant coach, but the head coach. I need to have a good relationship with the head coach," Nolan said. "I would like to play my first year, get a lot of playing time. That's pretty much it."
