In just one scrimmage, Tajh Boyd has proven he has a better grasp of Clemson's new offense than perhaps anybody could expect, completing 10 of 12 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

While the numbers are impressive, they dwarf any other scrimmage he's ever been a part of in his Clemson career.

Tajh talked about that and more today with CUTigers publisher Roy Philpott on the sports talk show The Score.

"Definitely been stepping up in a leadership role," he said of his strong start in preseason camp. "If you take the spring when the offense was new, it was about getting the grasp of it and getting the hang of it. You kind of knew what you were talking about, but at the same time you weren't really sure.

"But after taking the whole summer to learn your craft and come along. It's something that's been showing so far. The guys are responding so it can't get much better right now."
