During his three-year Clemson career, he has seven sacks and 23 quarterback pressures.
Quick screens, short hitches, slants, etc. It could be tough sledding for Branch, if he's going to get to Troy quarterback Corey Robinson.
"It does make it kind of difficult," Branch said.
But, this is Andre Branch, ladies and gentlemen.
"At the same time, if you're a pass rusher you can get there," he said.
The man isn't short on confidence, swagger -- whatever you call it.
"I'm always confident in myself," he said. "That's just me."
DON'T FOLLOW, LEAD: Last season, Dabo Swinney asked Dwayne Allen to become more of a leader, but he wasn't ready.
"I wasn't ready, from a player standpoint, and my personal. I had a lot of maturing to do, in order to take on that role," Allen said. "The guys around me just had to see me mature. I believe that's something that I did. That role is way different from the role I had last year, where I was just there to make plays."

"Whenever times get tough, we never had a guy to step up and say something," Allen said. "I'm going to be that guy this year."
EXECUTION, THAT'S THE NAME: Swinney wouldn't mind seeing a play similar to the one Andre Ellington broke off on the first play of last year's opener.
Against North Texas, on the Clemson 40-yardline, Ellington took a handoff from Kyle Parker and 60 yards to pay dirt.
It was 6-0 Tigers, and many fans were still finding their seats.
Sure, Swinney would like to see another dazzling touchdown play. At the very least, he would prefer to see the sticks in a positive direction.
"I just want it to be a positive play," he said. "I know what we're opening up with, as we kind of have our plan set and ready to go...I just want to see us execute and take care of the football."
That's not to say every play in the playbook Chad Morris brought from Tulsa isn't supposed to result in six points.
"Every play is designed to score," Swinney said. "Hopefully we'll have the same result that Andre had last year and he'll be able to take it to the house again.
"Again, the main thing is to have a good, positive play, and just stay on schedule."
