Hobby making an impression

Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby has made a nice impression on this 2013 defensive end, who camped in Tigertown this past summer.

Eagles Landing Christian Academy [McDonough, Ga.] junior Isaac Rochell would like to head back to Clemson sometime this fall to checkout a game.

"I really like coach Hobby," Rochell told CUTigers.com on Wednesday night. "I'm actually about to call him, later on tonight."

Georgia, Florida State and Auburn are also candidates for visits this season.

"It's kind of week to week. It's where my teammates are going, where I'm going. We're just sort of organizing," Rochell said.

Last weekend, he visited Alabama.

"It was good. It was a blow-out and we got there kind of late, so we just went and saw the game," Rochell said.

With Florida State as the most recent, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound junior is up to over 20 offers,.

Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the others on that list.

Rochell remains wide-open with an order of favorites.

"I've told other people that it's still my high school season," he said. "I'm really trying to focus on that and not necessarily get caught up in the recruiting process.

"The bottom line, I'm still in high school. I really haven't put that much thought into it, but I really want to start narrowing it down."

Several factors will be considered as Rochell works towards his decision.

"What kind of program they have -- from all aspects, even academically -- things like that," he said. "It's easy to figure out a good football program. It's harder to find a really good program. That's just what I'm looking for."

Against Henry County last week, Rochell had 15 tackles and three sacks.

As a sophomore, he had 75 tackles, 12 sacks, three forced fumbles and had one interception.
