Smith likely to start versus Wofford

CLEMSON - Rashard Hall is likely to miss Saturday's game against Wofford. Expected to start in his place is freshman Robert Smith.

Hall, who suffered a knee injury in the season opener against Troy, is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game.

"Rashard actually practiced today and felt really good," said head coach Dabo Swinney. "He was all excited. We got his brace on today, he was planting and cutting. he could probably play, and may play, if we need him.

"We'll go with those other guys. Probably will start Robert Smith. [Jonathan] Meeks probably will start. Those guys will do a good job."

Meeks could potentially move over to free safety, allowing Smith to play strong safety.

"Those guys are interchangeable. They can play either one of those spots, both of them," Swinney said.

Another injury note
Redshirt freshman running back Demont Buice will make his Clemson debut on Saturday. He missed the opener with a foot injury.

"We're glad to get him back. We've got him plugged in on some special teams. Hopefully, we'll get him an opportunity to get in on offense some, too," Swinney said. Top Stories
