OL Tyrone Crowder Profile
Richmond County High School [Rockingham] junior offensive lineman Tyrone Crowder last visited Clemson for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
Saturday's 35-30 win over Florida State was the third time Crowder had seen a game in Death Valley.
"It was great. I liked it. The crowd was all into it," he told CUTigers.com.
Crowder visited last season for the Miami and South Carolina games.
"Basically, the defense was better than it was from last year, a little bit better," he said, referring to Saturday's win over the Seminoles. "The receivers, Sammy Watkins stood out. He's in his freshman year and he stood out more than the receivers last year."
The 6-foot-2, 310-pound prospect spoke with defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks, his recruiter of note, and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell.
"We were just catching up," Crowder said.
Caldwell watched Crowder play earlier this month and offered soon thereafter.
"This summer, when I was up there for camp, he told me that I was the guy," Crowder said.
His other offers include South Carolina, North Carolina, Duke and ECU.
Crowder is "all even" at the moment, but has a few things in mind as he continues through the recruiting process.
"First, I have to find out if they have my major. I'm still undecided. Then, program-wise, how the program is doing, the campus lifestyle and facilities comes last," he said.
For Crowder, Clemson has already made steps in the right direction.
"I saw they're adding more stuff onto the West End Zone. They said they're adding a little dining hall and a museum to the West End Zone. They had some more construction going on," he said. "Clemson has a great campus. I like it."
The Tigers are recruiting him as a guard/center.
As a freshman, when he attended nearby Greer High School, Crowder played left guard. As a sophomore and junior at Richmond County, he's played tackle.
