Four-star DB stays the weekend

One of the nation's top 100 prospects in the class of 2013 spent all of last weekend on an unofficial visit to Clemson.

Trinity Christian Academy [Jacksonville, Fla.] junior safety Nick Washington arrived to town Friday and stayed until Sunday.

The four-star prospect visited Clemson in June, so he'd already seen the campus and met head coach Dabo Swinney.

With Washington this weekend was someone who'd yet to see Tigertown.

"We showed my mom the school, because that was her first time. We talked to coach Swinney also," he told

On Saturday, Washington took in his first game at Death Valley, Clemson's 35-30 win over Florida State.

"It was great. The atmosphere was crazy," he said.

What stood out about the weekend the most?

"Getting to talk to coach Swinney," Washington said.

"We were talking about how I should get back up there for a game. Hopefully, I can get back up there soon, before the summer."

Florida State and Florida have also received visits on football weekends. Washington plans to make another trip to Florida this weekend, for the Alabama game.

The 6-foot, 170-pound prospect holds offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, UCF and Virginia.

He currently claims no list of favorites.

Washington had 90 tackles and five interceptions as a sophomore. Top Stories
