Milton High School junior running back Peyton Barber has waited patiently for his chance to play this season.

The 5-foot-10, 211-pound running back from Alpharetta, Ga. has been sidelined all season with a high ankle sprain.

"We play Northview this week," he told CUTigers.com recently. "I'm pretty excited about that."

Barber had planned to visit Clemson for Saturday's game against Boston College, but had to cancel at the last minute, because of a scheduling conflict.

He's already been to Tigertown once this season. Barber visited with a couple of teammates last month for the Auburn game.

"It was electrifying. I liked it a lot. It made me want to commit to Clemson," Barber said.

What, specifically, stood out?

"The crowd, just the way that the fans were reacting to the game. The way the team was playing, they played like a family, as one," he said.

Barber spoke with Clemson running backs coach Tony Elliott.

"We talked about me coming back down there, the next game that I'm going to be attending. He asked how I was doing in school," Barber said.

Next week, he will visit Vanderbilt. Barber also hopes to make a visit to Alabama this fall.

He claims offers from Clemson and UCF.
