Boyd, who completed 27 of 46 throws for 367 yards, also scored on a 1-yard run.
With the rushing touchdown, Boyd was responsible for six scores, which tied Woody Dantzler's 10-year school record for touchdown responsibility.
"I didn't know until after the game, but those are the kind of things that you try and do every week," Boyd said. "It's not about breaking records, but playing hard every week. We have to prepare for each week and each game knowing there is an opportunity to win, but there is also an opportunity to lose it."
Not long after he was hired, offensive coordinator Chad Morris informed Boyd that there would be days like Saturday.
"One of the things I told him, 'In this offense, you're going to break a lot of records. You're going to break a lot of records. That's what it's set for,'" Morris said.
Nuke's the bomb...
"I was just running good routes. Coach Morris called good plays to get me the ball. I captured it and made the best." - DeAndre Hopkins
"He's a great player. He's had a great year. All of our guys have good hands, but Nuke is Stretch Armstrong out there. He plays like he's 7'2." - Dabo Swinney
"He came to practice this week, ready to play. He showed it in the game. As a group, we're all happy when somebody scores a touchdown. He just helps the team out. I just help the team out." - Sammy Watkins
"Turnovers kill you. They take momentum away from you. They take energy away from you. They take energy out of you. They take emotion out of you. It kills you." - Everett Withers
"Two of those were touchdowns. You don't see defenses score two touchdowns in one game on turnovers very often. We did. That was huge." - Kevin Steele
35-point third quarter...
"Hopefully nobody went and got themselves a drink in the third quarter. If they did, they missed a show. That just shows you how explosive you can be." - Morris
"I wouldn't say five touchdowns in one quarter, but my high school scored 70 points, 63 points, so we scored quite a bit." - Watkins
Little room to run...
"Their front four and their three linebackers are probably as good as we'll play against this year. We knew it was going to be a challenge...we were hoping to open it up. We scored 59 points. Any way we can do it, we're happy." - Dalton Freeman
