Jackson will Transfer to Clemson

According to reliable sources, the Tigers will be adding the services of defensive tackle Steven Jackson (6-1, 255) this fall. Jackson will transfer to Clemson from East Tennessee State University after the school decided to drop it's football program after the 2003 regular season.

Jackson will have to sit out the 2003 season but he will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2004.

Jackson registered 39 tackles, including 3 for loss and 1 sack last season for the Bucs. The former Columbia native who played at Spring Valley High School, recorded 163 tackles, 18 sacks, and recovered seven fumbles as a senior in 2001.

He also played fullback and rushed for 490 yards and nine touchdowns and was a participant in the North/South All-Star game.
Jackson will likely stay on the defensive line upon his arrival at Clemson.
