The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle from Louisville, Ky. thoroughly enjoyed his first trip to Clemson.

"It was really memorable for me. Overall, I was just really impressed with everything," he told in a recent interview. "The coaches were outstanding. The fans, the atmosphere, the beautiful campus and community as a whole."

While in town, Bloomfield spoke one-on-one with head coach Dabo Swinney, offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell and wide receivers coach Jeff Scott.

"I really got to spend a long time just talking with them, meeting with them, discussing the expectations for players and students," Bloomfield said.

Several months ago, he initiated contact with the Tigers.

"I've heard so much about them, always watched them on TV. You hear so many good things about Clemson, you just want to see it for yourself," Bloomfield said. "The fan-base is outrageous. The pictures online of the campus are beautiful. The community, it's a strong support group. The coaches are some of the best."

This fall, he's visited Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana. Trips to Penn State, Northwestern and Stanford could also be in the works.

A return visit to Clemson has been scheduled for the Wake Forest game.

"Clemson is definitely high in my top group right now, very high," he said.

Tennessee, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Stanford are also "high" on Bloomfield's list. Top Stories
