Lakewood High School [Saint Petersburg, Fla.] senior defensive end Dante Fowler has been committed to Florida State since December of 2010, but he's remained open to other suitors since making that pledge.

The exact date of that trip remains up in the air.

"I'm still looking at which weekend I'm schedule it for. I haven't figured that out yet," he said.

Clemson defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks stopped through the Tampa area last Friday to scout Fowler when Lakewood played Robinson.

Hobby serves as the Tigers' primary recruiter for Fowler. And, according to Fowler, they're in touch every other week.

What stands out about the Tigers?

"I've always been a big fan of Clemson. They produce a lot of good defensive ends. They had [Da'Quan Bowers] that just got drafted," Fowler said
