Crowder returns to Clemson

One of the top offensive linemen in North Carolina was back in Clemson on Saturday for the home finale against Wake Forest.

Richmond County Senior High School junior offensive lineman Tyrone Crowder visited Clemson earlier this season for the Florida State game. He was in for two games a year ago.

"It was kind of the same," Crowder told recently, when asked about the atmosphere for the game, which clinched the ACC Atlantic Division for the Tigers. "The fans are all in it. It's crazy."

The result was a bit of a surprise.

"Going into it, I was expecting that score, but it was a good game," he said. "They were down for a couple of minutes then came back and kicked the field goal at the end. It was good."

What stood out about Saturday's trip?

"In the game, I noticed there were a lot of freshmen, a lot of freshmen players in the game."

Crowder was in Chapel Hill earlier this season to watch North Carolina play Miami. He'll head to Columbia in two weeks for the Clemson/South Carolina game.

Plans for college visits will be put on hold until Crowder takes the SAT, which he could be taking in December.

Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke and ECU have offered the junior offensive lineman.

"Everything's kind of even," he said. "That's where things sit right now."

Crowder "hasn't really thought" about when he will focus on a certain number of schools.

"I'm just taking it slow right now," he said. Top Stories
